Yvet Steelbriar // Rava Viera

Yvet was once a salve-maker, a practitioner of Vieran Alchemy, a school that differs from both the Hannish and Ul'dahn traditions. For nearly 40 years the wellbeing of her village was her responsibility. She dispensed antidotes for poisons, disease cures, salves for common household injuries, and also the special concoctions used during holy days or ceremonial traditions. As such, most of her days were spent foraging for necessary ingredients - Wind-Wander Enclave as a remote location with many rare and wonderful reagents, many of which did not retain their potency beyond a day or two. Ever-present at her side was her Wood Warder, Gunnar. Jacks of Wind-Wander Enclave practice their own alchemical traditions, most of which involve the manufacture of assorted intoxicants. Some four decades before the most recent Calamity, Gunnar was enjoying the high of a particular favorite, when a right became a right and then a left and then -- quite by accident, Gunnar found himself Outside. And while this was quite a comical turn of events, it was still disastrous, as the Green Word brooked no manner of excuse, especially "because I got high". Yvet could hardly leave him to his own devices, and went into exile with him.

Their exit from the Golmore Jungle and the traditional Viera lifestyle put them close to Rabanastre, in the Dalmascan desert. There theye lived for many years as they acclimated to their new lives and trafficking with the other residents of the star. They learned of the global politics they had been removed from by virtue of their remoteness, mainly by dint of the Garlean occupation of the city. Avoiding the destruction of Rabanastre by Garlemald by only a scant few months, the pair lingered for a while in the Far East and then in Thavnair, before arriving in Eorzea in the wake of the Seventh Umbral Calamity.
